The Human Resources team strategically supports employees across all of the Success Academies and Success Academy Charter Schools network through recruitment, benefits and compliance and talent and organizational development. Human Resources initiatives include talent acquisition, retention and development; performance management; benefits and compensation analysis; new hire orientation; and internal communications and employee engagement. In addition, the Human Resources team strives for continuous improvement in its processes and provides ongoing coaching and expertise as needed to create a culture of joyful excellence.
The Human Resources Associate will work primarily at the network office and report directly to the Assistant Director of Human Resources.
*Oversee the onboarding process for all employees including the coordination of training sessions and employee record collection for all new employees as needed throughout the year
*Process employee information changes (transfers, terminations, etc.), payroll and benefits updates, and change information in appropriate systems
*Produce accurate and detailed reports related to recruitment, compensation, diversity, and retention in response to audits, grants, and internal inquiries
*Act as resident teacher certification and NCLB highly qualified status expert. Work with Teachers and Leaders to ensure compliance standards are met
*Track teacher certification, fingerprinting, and NCLB highly qualified status reporting and ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements
*Codify current HR department processes and work to streamline and develop a procedural guide to reflect various departmental practices
*Participate in the support and maintenance of our customized HRIS
*Partner with Talent Team to execute the annual instructional placement and performance management process including data analysis, compensation forecasting, etc.
*Manage the business card ordering and delivery process for the Network and all school entities year-round
*Maintain employee records and ensure they are 100% accurate and up to date at all times
*Respond to employment verification requests
*Support the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Director of Human Resources on additional projects and employee relations issues
The ideal candidate for this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree; 1 to 3 years of direct or indirect experience in Human Resources is required.
The candidate must demonstrate competency in the following areas:
*Data analysis. Intermediate to advanced excel skills strongly preferred, including multi-function formulas, pivot-tables, and formatting techniques. Uses shortcuts to work quickly and efficiently.
*Organization and project management. Keeps track of upcoming, ongoing, and past work product. *Understands shifting priorities and deadlines and can juggle multiple and varied projects simultaneously.
*Attention to detail. Thinks critically about the details of a task at hand. Has an uncommon ability to catch errors at a glance.
*Proactive and ambitious. Possesses an insatiable desire for answers and information, constantly researching and establishing new contacts and resources.
*Technical HR acumen. Knowledgeable about state and federal labor, employment, and insurance law, especially PPACA; charter and education law a plus. Has a strong regard for confidentiality and employs sound reasoning to make quick determinations.
*Public Speaking. Exhibits comfort and confidence when explaining technical terms to small and large groups.
*Communication with stakeholders. Gears communications towards the target audience and employs negotiation and buy-in skills as needed. Audiences include candidates, school leaders, teachers, parents, brokers, vendors, and State compliance agencies.
